A sex toy company by the name of Hot Octopuss placed the world’s first ever male “stress reliever” masturbation booth in Manhattan, NY. Made from an old telephone booth, it was equipped with a blackout curtain for privacy, a chair, and a laptop with WiFi connectivity.
According to Time Out magazine, thirty-nine percent of New Yorkers masturbate in the workplace to alleviate stress, so the sex toy company thought it was a good idea to create an alternative. It turns out that the booth was a huge success because the company reported that when the GuyFi booth launched on January 13, 2016 at 28th Street and 5th Avenue, more than one hundred men used it.
With the idea that men need masturbation booths in order to relieve stress from the workplace, maybe there should be booths for women as well. After all, behind every stressed man is probably an even more stressed out woman who has to work, cook, clean, and look after the kids. Okay, if not masturbation booths, maybe a midday spa break? Who’s with us?!
Of course, this new phenomenon has us wondering how will this affect relationships sexually. If a man has the opportunity to self soothe before he comes home, will it disrupt the chemistry in the bedroom? What do you think, should masturbation booths be available for both sexes?
